system freeze in Vista Ultimate
« on: December 10, 2007, 12:34:02 PM »

I am running Vista Ultimate with all updates on a Toshiba Satellite 1900. It has the latest BIOS and 1GB of ram. My Linksys G card works fine but when I plug in the DW642 card it will let me Cruz the internet for a few minutes than all freezes. It will freeze and release from time to time but it drives me crazy. I pull the card and all is fine. I have downloaded all the latest drivers and installed as instructed on the support website and still no luck. I think it maybe a IRQ issue/conflict. Any ideas on how to fix or make it work?

Have you tried let Windows Vista discover the drivers on its own without using the drivers that came with it?

Also is it 32-bit Vista or 64-bit?

yes I let windows discover the card and install drivers. It is a 32bit version.

After days of waiting to hear back from the advanced tech support I gave up and took the card back. I bought a Linksys it setup and ran just fine first time.
