Title: Protective plastic covering on antenna crumbling
Post by: B-man on November 20, 2015, 05:53:13 PM
I removed a DCS-2330L camera which I installed on 5/17/2014. As I removed the camera the plastic covering for the antenna  crumbled in my hand. For a outdoor camera this seems hard to understand. I called the help desk and the person I spoke with had never heard of this problem.
Has anyone else had this problem and were they able to make repairs.
Thank you for any suggestions you have!

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Since I seem to be the only one who has had trouble with my antenna on the DCS-2330l. I have told the help group to remove my case number. I was just looking for help in repairing the problem. My repair was to use heat shrink tubing and a small wire nut to close the end. The signal strength did not suffer by the change in the antenna covering.

Glad you found a work around B-Man. Sorry yours degraded like that. Not sure why. Thanks for sharing your work around.

I am also having this problem. It doesn't look like the antenna is replaceable.  Was this just part of a bad batch or will my other 2330ls fail too?  What's a more reliable replacement?
