DCS-936l solid static red light!
« on: November 06, 2019, 08:16:29 AM »

Hi, some time ago my camera stopped working after a bad firmware flash, the WPS button and reset do nothing, and is not connected to the router so I cant access the web. I contacted dlink and they told me I should send but I lost the invoice :(.
how can I fix it? I open it until motherboard, is there any chance to reinstall firmware manually or connect it to wi-fi?
(before the bad installation the camera worked fine, I don't thinks is burned)

I do not see a specific recovery procedure for this model but try the following:

1. Turn off the camera (remove the power cord)
2. Press and hold the reset button then plug the power cord into the device while still holding down the reset button for 10 seconds
3. The camera will boot and therefore the web interface for emergency recovery will default to IP 192.168.0.20
4. Connect your PC or laptop to the camera with an Ethernet cable set the network adapter to a static IP of: 192.168.0.10 / 255.255.255.0
5. Open your browser and type the IP address 192.168.0.20, select specific firmware for your device and proceed with uploading
6. Wait until end of upload procedure and then restart the camera that can take up to 5 minutes depending on the model

If it does not work, I will try to find the specific procedure if available.
