Hi everyone
I am trying to get either SMB, AFS or FTP access to the files stored via USB on the router. Is there anyway to do this, or a chance that this can be implement in the firmware? This will increase the functionality of the router which I am finding limited at the moment as I am required to go through shareport or the UPnP every time I want to access files.
Ideally I would like to be running a DLNA server on a roaming device such as a tablet, laptop, or phone, but the UPnP is coming up short as I cannot map any drives that the router is hosting. Other routers have SMB access, why doesn't this one, or at least why isn't the SMB access obvious?
My mac will access the router through the IP and it will ask me for a password. Eg. in finder I click connect to and type the address, eg. ftp://192.168.101.1/usb_a1/Media and I will be asked a password, but it will then fail to log on by either saying that there are is a user logged in and to try again later, or it will just say incorrect password. I have tried multiple port numbers by typing in the address as follows
ftp://192.168.101.1:8181/usb_a1/Media or ftp://192.168.101.1:21/usb_a1/Media
but this has not worked either.
Any ideas?
Cheers guys
