Cannot add camera to Mydlink App
« on: June 11, 2019, 09:47:09 AM »

Hi guys

I just bought my second DCS-8000LH camera. First one was configurated 2 months ago without any problem but with this new one i have this issue. During the process to detect or add the device this is not detected using Mydlink App:

Unable to connect to the device. Unable to connect to your device. Please reboot your device and attempt the setup again after the LEDS starts flashing orange.

* I did the recommended process but problem persist.
* Restart bluetooth services on my phone but problem persist
* I Tested from 3 different mobile phones but no luck
* I did Reset the camera to factory settings but no luck
* Mydlink app is up to date

Any clue?

Thank you guys.

hmm after resetting the camera, make sure you phone is connected to the wifi network you want your camera on (if you are connected to 5ghz, change to 2.4ghz).  Put the camera in the same room as the wireless router.

Make sure the network name and password are exactly the same (case-sensitive).

At what exact point are you getting the error message?

Hi, thank you for your quick answer.

I'm getting this error on Camera setup screen; after scan QR code, before wi-fi settings screen.

Regards

Oh that early in the process? Hmm.  Reset the camera again (I know it is redundant but necessary). Setup again but say No to the QR scan and select the DCS-8000LH from the list. Let me know if you get the error again.

Again make sure your bluetooth is on before starting.

What model phones are you using? What OS?

What hardware revision is the camera? Should be on the label (A1 or A2).

Hi

Oki doki; i'll try again tonight. I'm using an iPhone 6s with 12.3.1 OS version. I tested with another iPhone (same model and OS version) and a Samsung S10.

H/W Ver: A3   F/W Ver: 2.00

Thank you again for your quick answer and support.

Thank you but i didn`t have luck  :(

Tried several times but the problem persist, with QR code or adding manually process. Sometimes adding with NO QR code i got a different error but without no luck.

The funny thing was i tried with the camera powered off and get the same error, so i`m assuming this is a hardware error with the camera.

Tomorrow i`ll call the provider and request a change by warranty. I`ll let you know how it goes.

Thank you my friend for your time and help

Sounds like the camera cannot communicate with any of your devices like you said so definitely sounds defective. Hopefully the replacement will work for you.
