Hello All,
Today I purchased a  dlink dir 615 from staples.
I do not know much about networking but I have built my own computer , so i figured I could handle the installation process. Alas I keep getting stuck when I run the cd install software. everything goes smoothly until I get to 'Existing router user name and password' . I have a router/modem the siemens gigaset se567 from Telus. I live in british columbia canada. I have reset the modem multiple times, tried multiple combinations of Telus and Admin  and am getting a little bit frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated  thank you.
I should mention I plan on having the siemens as the modem still. I dont know if that changes anything.
thanks again

You don't need the CD to set up the router as it's preferred to use the Web page for the router to set it up.
You should be able to log into the router at 192.168.0.1.

If your ISP modem has a built in router then this could cause connection issues as having 2 routers on the same line and network isn't recommended. If the Modem is DSL then you might have the option of bridging the MODEM and letting the Dlink router hand all the traffic.

It is a dsl modem.  I will try to bridge them but really have no idea how to. I tried using 192.168.0.1 to log into the router but it just keeps trying to load with no result.
I am going to try to call dlink and figure out what I have to do.   thanks again!

What browser are you using?
Try a different browser like Opera, FireFox or Flock. There free and work great.
