You can change the 645 to use 192.168.1.1 if you can get in or get the ISP modem bridged.

What Mfr and model is the ISP modem?

It's a hitron cgn3.

I cannot use it to access the FTP address for the 106 firmware... It won't go.  Where else can I get the firmware?

Ok.  First though, I cleared my cache a d got the wizard up again with edge, and it can't connect tobthe internet, the cable is plugged into port 1 on The hitron cgn3, and the internet port on the dlink.

I have started to do the wizard again and don't want to cancel it, the wifi is setup to the current t network info so I don't have to change the computers and devices, and renames the existing network in the hitron to avoid issues...

Theres probably a conflict between the ISP modem and the 645 using the same IP address of 192.168.0.1..

Sent file, disconnect the 645 from the ISP modem after you get the file to your PC then be LAN wired to the 645 and then try to update the FW. You should be able to log in after a factory reset is performed using Admin and then hit enter. There will be no PW. Go in and manually update the FW. Do one more factory reset of the 645, skip the wizard and change the IP address of the 645 to 192.168.1.1 to avoid the conflict with the ISP modem until you can get the ISP modem bridge. Then reboot all then reconnect to ISP modem. If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.

Done the update, and am now doing the reset through the system page.  I set the password before the reset before flashing the firmware, so I can get in. I will reset it again.

How do I find the address for the router from the modem?

I changed the 192 address for the modem to 1.1 instead for the time being.

Look at the routers web page, Status/Device Info/Wan Section, if there is a 192.168.#.# address in the WAN IP address field, then the modem is not bridged. If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ.

I seem to have gotten it working, I am restarting the laptop and am posting from the connection on my phone.

I have not changed the hitron setup other than the 192.168.1.1 address for it.  I may not have to turn off the wireless there and bridge it if it's working.

I still need to get Xbox live setup.

Ya if you haven't bridged the ISP modem, disable all wifi on the ISP modem.

Review the XBL sticky for xbox. You may see moderate NAT since your in a double NAT condition currently. I hope the DMZ will help with OPEN NAT though. Or until the ISP modem can be bridged fully.

Glad you got it working.  ;)

i am on the xbox post in the section talking about advancedQOS, none of those images linked, even load, also my qos screen looks a bit different than what is mentioned.  in the meantime I have the routers ip on the modem's software in the DMZ and have deactivated the 5ghz network for the time being.  I am keeping the 2.4Ghz one up so I can get in if i need to fix something, I also have renamed it to avoid conflicts (even though its ip is now 1.1).

I would disable the 2.4Ghz on the ISP modem as it is too close to the 645s. Enable 5Ghz though since the 645 doesn't have 5Ghz support.

I think I need to update that sticky. I think I was using a picture repo that became a pay site so I removed the links.

See if you can follow the information and input the reserved IP address for the xbox from and to sections for local IP address range, remote should be 0.0.0.1 thru 255.255.255.254 and then set protocol to both and ANY for port if I can remember correctly. Save settings then reboot. While the router reboots, do a factory reset under the networking settings this is for a 360, turn off after the reset, then back on. Then check NAT.

Would that work for an Xbox one?  The router likes to kick me out and back to the login before I can save changes, so for now I have disabled the QoS stuff.

Yes.

Ya there's a 3 minute time out I think on D-Link routers so you kind of have to work fast. Let me know if you need help. Maybe I can remote in and set it up with you using teamviewer.com

I'll try and re-update the QOS sticky to show the 645 QoS page for XBL.> Updated QoS sticky.  ;)

Well,  this is interesting,  I turned on qos with the settings enabled for Xbox,  though not  the Xbox one specific settings.

Now I cannot login to the router  again.   I didn't put a password on it after resetting it the other day.  Now it's acting like there is one.   But my network settings  are working still.
