« on: March 29, 2013, 07:36:39 AM »

I am trying to put in port forwarding for my son's ps3, I have set up a static ip address, but when I put in the ports I want to save for Black ops II it will not save the settings.

Link>Welcome!
What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask. Link>Checking MTU Values

Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual or under Setup/PARENTAL CONTROL/Set to>None: Static IP or Obtain Automatically From ISP.
Enable Use Unicasting (compatibility for some ISP DHCP Servers) under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

If IPv6 is an option on the router, select Local Connection Only or Disable IPv6 options under Setup/IPv6.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall.
Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking. Disable uPnP for testing Port Forwarding rules. Disable IPv6 Multi-cast Streaming if IPv6 is not being used.
Turn off WISH, and WPS under Advanced.
WAN Port Speed set to Auto or specific speed? Some newer ISP modems support 1000Mb so manually setting to Gb speeds can be supported by the router. Advanced/Advanced Networking/WAN Port Speed
Set current Time Zone, Date and Time. Use an NTP server feature. Tools/Time.

What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8 or 9, set compatibility mode and test again.

I haven't found out why it would not save the port forwarding settings, so I put my son's PS3 in DMZ mode and put his Ip address in the DHCP reserve list so his Ip address wouldn't change.
He still is complaining why his PS3 lags while playing Black Ops 2 online.
LOL

You might set up a QoS rule for the PS3 and another rule for all other devices, put the PS3 rule at a priority of 50 and set the other rule to 128.

If you need some help, Maybe someone can review your router settings with you using Link> teamviewer if your interested. Its safe and secure.

For Fort Forwarding to work you must [enter] and [save] one row at a time. It works for me.

Hello,
I'm having a similar issue.
I am trying to port forward my xbox however the port forwarding doesn't seem to save.

I am currently using the DIR-826L Router,
the webpage says the hardware version is A1 and the firmware on the webpage is 1.04.

Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again. (For older generation routers.)
