826L not showing all devices in the
« on: January 16, 2013, 06:44:26 AM »

New 826L router,
FW: 1.01
Region: Canada
Provider : Rogers

Problem: noticed tha 826L is not showing all devices

I have around 12 devices and under NUMBER OF DYNAMIC DHCP CLIENTS only 6 clients shows up. Which is a pain as i cannot reserved a device if it's not ARPing , which then follows with virtual server, port forwarding config issue.

I think this is major issue.

What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8 or 9, set compatibility mode and test again.
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.

Turn OFF ALL devices. Start with 1 wired PC to manage the router. See if it is displayed under NUMBER OF DYNAMIC DHCP CLIENTS. I believe you need to use the drop down menu (<<) under Add Reservation section above and this should list the available device(S) to add. Select (<<) to fill in the boxes. Change the NAME and or IP address here. Select ADD then Save Settings. I think this router supports Reboot Later. Try reboot later then turn on another device. You might have to refresh the web page or navigate to another page then come back. If you don't see the newly added device, try to reboot the router.

Let us know if this process works.

Maybe someone can review your router settings with you using Link> teamviewer if your interested. Its safe and secure.

Currently testing on Chrome, FF and IE 8 , showing same issue.

Let me try this again.

Turn OFF ALL devices. Start with 1 wired PC to manage the router. See if it is displayed under NUMBER OF DYNAMIC DHCP CLIENTS. Ok i'll test this process of using one device only.

Let us know if this process works.

I'll advise what i find. thanks for the response

Just tested now and with 1 PC hardwired it shows up no problem, but when you start adding devices both wired and wireless. It's not showing "all " the devices.

Weird thing i notice now under "STatus" you will see most of the devices, but still not all.

troubleshooting continues, kinda thinking already of my solid 655 (AP) now as it's only problem was streaming movies were stuttering.

Do a reboot after adding, saving settings when you add the next device.
