Title: Using second Dlink 868L as dedicated VPN router?
Post by: kbhag on September 12, 2019, 03:45:05 AM
Hi,
here is the setup I'm trying:
ISPModem----(WANport)DLinkMain(LANport)-----(WANport)DlinkVPN----PC

PC can browse internet successfully. DHCP enabled on both routers with different subnets.
However, when I change the Internet Connection Type on DlinkVPN to "PPTP" and input all the details of the PPTP connection, the globe LED on Dlink VPN turns steady orange, and I lose connectivity on the PC.seems like authentication succeeds, but connections closes for some reason.
I can connect to VPN using same settings with a PC directly - so nothing wrong with settings.
This is what I see in the logs: (x.y.z.a is the PPTP server IP)

I don't believe that is a supported configuration for VPN. You'd be in a double NAT condition which would also be a factor.

Thanks. I disable NAT on Dlink VPN, and the config is same as running a VPN client on a PC. Still doesn't work. I have all ALG enabled on the DLinkMain.

Is the 868L configured for this mode?
