Title: Reommend any stable router?
Post by: chanwei21 on October 02, 2018, 06:07:04 PM
I'm tried using DIR-825/842/860L as my main router.
and they all went to the same problem which causes my internet connection lost after couple of days or even hours.
Need to reboot the device the turn back everything well onlined.

So any recommend stabled routers?
I have 15 AP devices connected.
20~50 Client users (PC+MOBILE)
and some IPCamera device to port forwarding.

Will the DIR-855L or DIR-890L be a stable router?
wich one is better? or I just change to other brand?

I have a netgear FVS366GV3 this one is stable router because it got schedule reboot, I set it to reboot every 12hrs.
but the only problem of this router is their UTM firewall causes my ISP internet speed limit in below 30% wich netgear commited can't resolve this on their ProSafe line ups. wich my original internet speed is 100Mbps down/Upload speed only gets 30Mbps below and also the port forwarding problem not user friendly.

If your having problems with different router and they all seem to be doing the same thing, then it maybe a environment or interference issue and not a router issue.

Router Placement
Forum User - "Well I feel really dumb. After moving the router away from other electronic devices my speeds are back to normal. Just a heads up for anyone experiencing slow speeds, you might want to move it away from other electronics and see if that helps."
3-6' feet minimum safe distance between devices.
Placement on main level floor and central in the building and WELL ventilated is preferred. Not in basements or closets as building materials, or near by electronics devices could interfere or hinder good signal propagation.

Sounds like a modem issue. What model modem do you have?

Reboot shouldn't be needed if your having the router do that all the time, the maybe something else thats causing the problem. I've never ever used scheduled reboot of a router.  ;D
