Title: Finally Died? Internet Globe Blinks Orange
Post by: Greenhawk84 on September 10, 2018, 07:57:14 PM
So oddly I did  speed test and found my setup was only getting 25mbps down on a 100mbps speed line.

I reset my modem and DGL-5500, but the DGL-5500 never found the internet again.  It sits there and blinks orange forever.  I have used this setup for years without issue.  I plugged my cable modem direct into my PC and I have 100+ mbps now.  It appears my DGL-5500 went awry at some point.

I pin poked the reset button and same issue.  I unplugged everything for a moment and reset, same issue.  I even tried to reflash the firmware in the browser and nothing.  I can still access the browser admin section, but it cannot detect my internet type.

Perhaps this router has officially died?

If you've re-flashed and done a factory reset and walked thru the setup wizard with the modem connected and it can't find it, I would presume it's hosed.  :-\
Have you left it OFF for a while then come back and try again?

You can try configuring it for LAN to LAN AP mode and see if WIFI still works, I presume it does.
Only other test would be to load up OpenWRT and see if anything differs. If this still fails, then something HW has failed on the WAN side.
