Hello,
My device is a 505 with firmware updated.
I'm trying to use it to connect a Samsung tv to my wireless network.
The main router Is a netgear dgn 2200 .
The wireless part works (checked with tablet), the static ip set 192.168.1.100
Is not used. The dgn sees the tv, but the tv cannot see 192.168.0.1
Which is the gateway and DNS address.
What I do wrong?
Thanks Marina

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
What mode are you using the 505 in?
- What wireless modes are you using on the main host router?
- 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
- 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz routers: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N on 2.4Ghz and single mode N on 5Ghz?
- Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
- Try setting a manual Channel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wireless_channel) to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear.
- What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support

Hello,
thanks for the answer.
The hardware version is A1, firmware version 1.06b05, I'm in Europe, Italy.
The dir 505 is in repeater mode, with extended wireless with different SSID from the main.
The main router is set up to 54 Mbps for b/g networks, wpa-personal both on dir and dgn.
I 'm also using a dlink DAP1160 to connect a sky decoder in another room, used as a wireless to cable converter and it works perfectly. The tv I'm trying to connect now used to work with the DAP.

I forgot Channel is set to Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz.
But since the wireless connection works,
I mean I can connect to the extended network and access internet,
why should it behave differently on the cable part?
thanks Marina

Should be the same for either wired or wireless. Only that your using different SSID on the 505.
You might check to see what the TV supports and if it's wireless is supporting of WPA2 or AES. We've seen some issues with Samsung TVs not working correctly with wireless security. Contact the MFr of the TV to get information and configuration help.

TV has only wired unfortunately.
I shall make some more tests, and let you know
if I'll make it work.

Ok, ensure the lan network on the TV is set up well. use Automatic Obtain IP addressing ON the tv. Don't use manual Static IP addresses. The TV should be able to get an IP automatically from the Main Host router. Swap LAN cables to be sure. Cables can be bad.

Tried also this ... it did not work.
The TV see the local network but cannot go outside ???

I recommend that you phone contact D-Link support and ask for help and information. You may need to contact the Mfr of the TV and have them help you to ensure that the TVs networking is working well. IF there is a problem on the TV and other devices work with the 505, then the TV needs to be looked at.
