Title: Unable to log into brand new DIR-505

I've just plugged in a new DIR-505 with the intention of using it to supply wifi to an already wired network.

Unfortunately I cannot log into the device.

- I have a green light, it shows up on the wifi networks
- I try to connect to 192.168.0.1 or dlinkrouter when it's cabled into my home network. No joy....can't find it.
- I try to connect to the device via wireless and my laptop and it says 'Authenticating' but never actually goes anywhere.
- I try to connect with my blackberry and it says 'failed to obtain ip address'.
- I try to connect with my iPhone and it connects but I don't get a login screen, I almost do! I get the following: (http://i.imgur.com/WHZy7fy.jpg)
- Top right of the above image says 'A1 1.03' (version I assume)

I can't get it to work, i've tried searching, i've tried reboots, nothing works. Any ideas?

Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9 or 10, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Does a Wired PC work to connect and configure the router?

- HW Version A1
- 1.03 firmware loaded (says on the sticker next to the HW version)
- Region = UK
- Factory reset performed many times

- With laptop I dont even get to the browser stage - can't connect. Wont give me an IP address.
- Blackberry same
- iPhone is the only one that connects

if I connect it directly to my desktop PC via cat6 cable it just sits there and eventually says unidentified network. Can't connect to it in firefox or IE, no response to 192.168.0.1 or using the name

You can try this and see if it works:
Emergency Recovery Mode (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=44909.0)

if this fails, you'll need to return this unit to place of purchase or phone contact D-Link support and get this unit into RMA asap.
