Hello folks,
Found another bug here i think.
Router = 826L
firmware=1.01
Provider= rogers cable / cisco modem/router
I need to manually add specific DNS configuration for both Primary and Secondary DNS Server.
Under Internet > Manual Configuration> Primaryand Secondary DNS server > apply manual dns ip address. it will take it.
If you look under Status" it's still taking the providers DNS IP Address.
DIR-655 did not have any issues with this. sorry to compare a 5 yr old router .
Anybody seen this before?

Is DNS Relay enabled? Try disabling it and try again.
-
Hi Furry,
it's disabled
thanks,
-
And after you applied the new saved DNS addresses, the router rebooted and Status shows it's using the ISP default addresses?
-
Hi furry yes, it does not take the manual entry, after saving it takes the provider's . I tested now with dir-655 and it does not have this issue.
-
Have you successfully upgrading FW yet? ???
-
Hi Furry,
Firmware: 1.02 yay, but nay ???
Issues: Internet now intermittent, connection says Limited and i have to reboot it every 10 mins, which is oh my ....
DHCP issue, seems to have resolved it , as device are showing up now, all of them ,
Reserve IP seems to be working now as all devices shows up in the list so i can selelct them now,
But. new issue, Internet connection now saying "Limited in a few minutes. "
Crazy,
Sorry Furry, i tried, but for a new router , it's the first time i had issues like this. not a newbie here at that.
It's going to bestbuy tomorrow. I dont bother to get a new replacement, frustrated too much man .
But more power and thanks for the quick response, hope my testing 1.02 add to your list of possible fix to the DHCP reserve list and etc. that i encountered in 2 weeks of testing.
cheers and more power.

Ok man, sorry we could not get it working fully for you. Please give a different DLink router a try.
Let us know what you go with.
Good Luck.

Curious if you'd let us know what your wireless and network needs are, maybe we can recommend a better suited router for you? Let us know if you want to.

Just to add,
Heavy on Netflix, youtube streaming and BT downloads,
DIR-655 was good but some stuttering on the streaming. that's why i ventured to get a new one
Tried the following:
826L
645
Testing now a booster DAP 1525 to extend my DIR 655 signal to see if this would makes sense,
thanks

Whats your ISP speed UP and DOWN that you pay for?
-
28mb down
2mb up
-
Well that should be good for handling netflix and downloading. I currently have my 655 online and it works for Netflix and gaming. So does the 645.
What model is the ISP modem? One thing that could be hampering your experiences with routers is the ISP Modem. You said it was a modem/router combo?
Also, if your on cable, I would have the ISP physically check the cable line going from there box to your build/house box to make sure the line is in good working condition. If there are any T.V. line splitters before the ISP modem, these can lower the signal and introduce noise on the line. You want a good clean signal going into the modem and it should be to spec for the modem.
If the modem is a router/modem combo then this will be a source of a bottle neck as it also now is having to process data traffic. For Cable ISPs, I only recommend a Modem only option if possible. Having two routers on the line will be problematic.
Let see if we can maybe help you narrow this down a bit more if possible.

Any status on this? ???
