03hdfatboy, can you clarify?

I talked to D-link and they were not able to resolve the problems. They should be fixed with firmware update.

I reported it to this forum, so that others do not have to waste their time by trying unnecessary steps.

However, you commented as if the problems do not exist. Did you not use the features that I mentioned or did you use the features but you still do not have the problems?

Me too

I have same trouble like dcs-5222LB1. After some time the camera don't send any image, in dlink+ I have time out in connection but the camera is connected and is called by ip address.

I go back to older firmware and no problem!

Do you have a Static IP address set on the cameras?
Is uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on each camera?
What Mfr and model # is the main host router?
Is a factory reset performed after applying the new FW on the camera then setup from scratch.

Do not use this firmware. The percentage setting from motion detection has been removed. Notification via email only sends texts, not pictures. Please, D-Link, how many times do I have to  be tester for new problems?

Also, the frames per second max went from 30 to 25 and when I tried to turn on multicast the cameras slowed to a crawl. Maybe they'll get it right by version 2.46? This is no good since I think there is supposed to be a security update with the last firmware?

Firmware 1.12 Has Flaws
« Reply #19 on: November 15, 2015, 04:20:47 PM »

I have several of these DCS-2330L Cams, I updated all to firmware 1.12 and they all would go off-line several times a week.  I continuously had to reboot them to connect, finally I un-did and rolled back to 1.02.03 and they stay connected.  I am not sure why these updates are released without proper (thorough) testing.  Anyone else having issues with updates?

The only issue I have with mine is the app for the iPhone, the one for the iPad (not the lite) works perfect. The cameras work great..now

Maybe 03hdfatboy can chime in on what he has configured that has his cameras working well.

I set everything up with the iPad app then just modified the pre recording to -3 and the file size to 7500Mb that gives me 16 sec of video. All the other settings are default.

I do have static ports setup, with uPnP and port forwarding enabled, thats how I access my cams from outside home network using 3rd party cam viewers on iPad and Android.  D-Link apps work as well, but they are not good for more than 5 min (then manual reconnect) and group view is very limited and not as fine tuned.  Router is Netgear WNDR4500 and does have latest version FW and port forwarding active with static IP to each cam.  The last thing about factory reset, I did not do that, but just rebooted them.  I am not sure how to post (attach) an image here, otherwise I can snapshot cam settings.

I take ONE camera and do a factory reset and set it up from scratch. Set a Static IP address ON the camera that's outside of the DHCP IP address pool on the router, ensure uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding is enabled. Test.

Using 1.12 now with no problem. Email with pics works, and percentage is still there. Try reloading the fw.

I agree, factory reset, manually load FW using IE or FF with any PC security software, once loaded, do one more factory reset and the set up from scratch. I recommend setting a static IP address ON the camera and enabled both uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding ON the cable as well.

Just upgraded as well.... so far, so good.  Sensitivity % is there.  No other "motion detection" percentage, but not an issue for me.  Email snapshots work fine.  Everything seems to work normally... or at least as it did with v1.01.06.

Had some trouble actually installing the updated.  Was eventually able to do it using the web admin page, but it took several attempts.  Finally it worked.  I did reboot the camera, but i'm not sure if that matters to be honest.  Did not restore to factory settings prior to upgrading.

PC 3rd Party Security Software Configurations
  • Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while upgrading FW.

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try IE FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again. These are recommended for doing any FW udpates.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches before and after upgrading FW.

Glad you got it working. Enjoy.  ;)
