I set up my camera for continuous recording to my NAS, and the camera creates 2-3 minute long 51mb clips 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, basically non-stop... or so I thought. In reality, I noticed the other day that I'm losing anywhere from 1 to 3 minutes of time in between each clip. For example, the camera will create a clip that starts at 12:00 and ends at 12:02, but the following clip doesn't begins until 12:04, so if anything were to happen at 12:03, I'd have no recording of it. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?
I took a closer look at the video clips on my NAS as they are being generated, and I noticed that there appears to be some sort of 1 to 2 minute long post-processing step that occurs once the video file size reaches the specified 51mb limit, and the camera doesn't begin recording again until that post-processing step is completed. This explains the time gap in the clips, but it's pretty ridiculous because it effectively means that in practice I'm really not recording continuously at all. I'm only recording 50% or less of the activity. If anyone has any idea how to fix this, please let me know.
