I just got my DIR-880L and after a weird session of automatic reboots every 5 seconds I hit the factory reset and it's been great ever since. The range and speed are top incredible, especially after my DIR-655 starting to fail me.
The issue: I also have an IP camera DCS-2330L and I'm attempting to record to the external hard drive hooked up to the router via USB 3.0. The device is recognized and I can view the files by going to the shareport.local address in my browser. However, the setup for the camera is requesting this in the form of a directory (\\computer\dir\dir...).
It seems simple enough, I just can't seem to make it happen. Any thoughts are appreciated!

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.
- Setup DHCP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58017.0) reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting and maintain consistency for applications that need to connect as well as mapped drives.
- Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

Very helpful... those are the words I needed to use in my search! I'll do a bit of reading but I think that will fix it.
Hardware: A1

Worked great! Continuous recording until it hits 200GB on my hard drive
Network path ended up being \\192.168.0.1\Seagate_Backup_ZTZH1\2330 Camera
Odd name for the external, but whatever. Thanks again for your help.

Glad it's working.
Enjoy. ;)

Side question, somewhat related -- Is it possible to access the SharePort drive remotely to modify files? The only information I see regarding accessing the SharePort hard drive is for those devices connected to that network, not from an outside internet connection.
Edit: Found the solution. To access the SharePort drive remotely, use the WAN port IP and the port 8181 for the SharePort drive. (ex: 25.182.239.108:8181) - login. Presto
