Vlans on 3 switches
« on: December 11, 2012, 06:48:01 AM »

Hi everyoe,
I have 3 DGS-1210-48 installed in my network. The three switches use port 48 as their uplink between each other. I need to setup 2 VLANs in each switch so that I can split the internal traffic from WI-FI traffic. Basically, I need ports 25,26 & 27 in each switch to become VLAN2 and the rest to remain on the default VLAN 1. However, I need ports 25, 26 and 27 on each switch to talk to each other and NOT talk to the rest of the ports of all switches.

Can this be done please? if so, can you please give me some detailed information on how to do it? I read a lot in documentation but have not managed to succeed.

Easy. Create the VLAN's, and make VLAN 1 untagged. then you assign each VLAN to specific ports as untagged traffic. that's it:-)

if you have any further questions, then we are monitoring this forum: http://structureit.dk/forum/

We will post answers there daily:-)
