Title: "The download file size must be less than 2 GB."
Post by: Hugoo13 on March 01, 2013, 05:25:36 AM
Hello,

First, sorry for my bad english, i'm french!

I bought a DNS 320L to store my movies (Blu-ray > 4Go). But my family can't download anything because we have the following message:
"The download file size must be less than 2 GB."

I have one hard drive (2To) inside.

How can I fix this problem?

Thanks. I hope you will understand me.

It seems that your HDD is formatted with FAT32 file system which does have max 2GB file size limitation! Have you partitioned that HDD during NAS installation process? NAS DNS-320L install procedure formats HDD's using EXT4 file systems which does not have any problem files bigger than 2GB.

How did you format the HDD in your DNS-320L?

I guess you have to upload before you can download. Can you upload the files to the drive, prior to they download it. The message cant be from the OS on the machine trying to downloading the file, and not a message from the NAS??

/K

Hi.

"NAS DNS-320L install procedure formats HDD's using EXT4 file systems which does not have any problem files bigger than 2GB."

The HDD uses EXT4 format.

When I copy/paste a file with Windows Explorator, it's fine. And i can download file using FTP.
But if i want to use the share center interface, download and upload are limited.

Did you format the HDDs using the DNS-320L or were the HDDs formatted elsewhere?

I format the HDD with the DNS-320L tool. Now, I use FTP and it's fine.

I have another question:
Port 80: I want to host my web site. Lighttpd uses port 8080.
Port 8080 (or an other): I want to accede to the NAS admin page.

It works but, if I install PHP, the admin page is not available.

EDIT:
- whith lighttpd.conf-with-php : web site OK on port 80, but on port 81, the admin page isn't available.
- whith lighttp.conf-dns320 : web site isn't available, the admin page is OK on port 81.

Formatted hdd while following the wizard, updated firmware to 1.02, and the problem persists. I can download and upload files larger than 2gb using windows explorer, but cannot do so using the sharecenter interface nor can use p2p functionality to download/upload files larger than 2gb. Some help?

Sorry to bring up an old topic.

But is there any update that makes downloading files larger than 2gb possible on ShareCenter?

Should be if your using the DNS native formatting system.
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
