My quality score is 0
« on: September 18, 2013, 06:44:33 AM »

I have just connected my DHP 306AV to a new computer.  It detects the remote adaptor, but the quality score of the local adaptor is 0000 and of the remote 0.

How can I improve this?

I have connected the remote adaptor straight to the modem.

Many thanks,

Joe

Is the score the same if both local and remotes are in the same room vs in a different room?

The remote is upstairs, almost directly above the local.

I would test in same room, then move the remote into different rooms to test. I wonder if there is some form of noise or line interferences in your build? Turn off any other electronic or electrical devices while testing. Unplug them from the all outlet. Ensure the local and remote units are not connected to any power strips. These could imped or cause problems.

Sorry for the long delay in testing this.  I had a chest infection.

I put the adaptor in the room next to the remote, but still got the same 0000 score for both.

Neither is connected to a powerlink, and the remote is connected directly to the modem.

What should I do next?

I meant to say neither is connected to a powerstrip!

Hope your feelin better.

I would presume that a phone call to D-Link support to inquire about the score and get immediate help on this.

Let us know how it goes.
