I have installed the Bittorrent add-on on firmware 1.08, but the hard-drive doesnt spin down even when there are no active torrents. I have to manually stop the torrent app from the addon setting for the disk to spindown.
This wasnt the case in firmware 1.06 where the disk happily went to standby when there were no active torrents.
Is this normal side-effect of torrent app being an add-on now ? Anybody else experiencing this ?
Also whats up with two separated logins for config and apps. Its really annoying to logout of one and log into another to make any change. A unified interface with just one login would be really nice.

Uninstall the new BT client in the Add Ons menu.
Use the OLD easy share and re-install the old BT client. Everything will work fine again.

Thanks a lot!!!! that helped.
I uninstalled the bittorrent add-on and installed the old bittorrent using easy-share (4.2.0.0).
Everything seems to be fine ;D except if i change any settings in bittorrent they are lost on reboot. ???

I guess you can't have your cake and eat it too. :D
I kinda' gave up on the BT client in this box.
-
Yeah i finally gave up too. Installed ffp and Transmission and seems to be working great. No issues so far. Extremely configurable and supports blocklists ;D , which can beasily updated.
Any idea how to uninstall the Bittorrent client app installed using the Easy share utility ?

Remove the Nas_Prog/BT directory :)

I stopped the BT server and nuked the folder it lived in. Doesn't seem to have caused any ill effects. :)

Remove the Nas_Prog/BT directory :)
Thanks. worked like a charm.

Sorry to bring back an old thread. I have the same problem and have been doing some research on remedy. I tried to delete the nas_prog/bt directory but it won't let me on a Windows machine due to linux permission or something. I have stopped the BT service but didn't delete it. Am I suppose to delete it too? If I delete, the folders delete itself.

i just upgraded to the official 1.08 release and my drives keep spinning for hours.
Just wanted to post that if you don't use the BT client, it's sufficient to just stop the BT client in the add on menu and your drives are hibernating. You do not have to uninstall.
