I will forward this thread to D-Link to review the images and will post back if I hear back...

I had Dlink DCS-7413 taken to local Dlink service center for testing and they seem to've come to conclusion that it's the sun shield reflecting the infrared light back into the lens and that's why it's created a rounded burn out zone. Seems to be industrial design problem...
Not sure though how can this be me only noticing this IR issue with DCS7413? Anybody else noticed similar night behaviour of this camera in total darkness?

I am having this exact same issue. I have two of these camera but only one of them has this issue. I took off the sun visor on the one that has this issue and it doesn't help.

mustangchris04, I have a feeling this was just an excuse for poor industrial design. We couldn't find a solution (including taking off the sun visor) and returned the camera to retailer. Replaced with another brand.

Out of curiosity, what is the "D-Link Service Center"? Is this s D-Link facility or a third party company that services D-Link products?
