Dear sir,
We can not connect to the switch after weekend or some holidays on some ports (not use in holidays).
The pc's network card link light is on , but can't ping the switch ip from the pcs.
But the server's network is OK, because it is on all day.
we must reboot the switch , then these ports connect with pcs will work normally.
How can I do.

When that port doesn't work does it appear in the switches ARP table?
Does the switch appear in it's ARP table?
Does a ping in either direction resolve the issue?

This sounds similar to a problem my client is having with a DGS-1024D (HW Ver C3). We've tried 3 different switches but this intermittant problem keeps coming back. Only one server and about 12 - 15 client PC's and 4 network printers attached so load should not be a problem:
Sometimes, usually in the morning, the switch just drops all connections. Can't ping anything. Rebooting PC's and the server does nothing. The only thing that resolves the problem is to unplug AC power to the switch for a few seconds and plug it back in. This happens about once a week or so. No discernible pattern to it. After 3 DLink switches, I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem before? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

rhodco,
Well as that is an unmanaged switch (rhodco sent a correction concerning the model) the only thing we can really do is a little better troubleshooting to try to determine the real issue. Given you have been through 3 of these things calling in sounds like a great idea.

rhodco,
I am having the exact same issue with the DGS-1024D in a house, but not as frequent. Has anyone figured it out?
