Firmware upgrade went bad. What next?
« on: April 18, 2013, 09:05:37 AM »

The upgrade(which I was doing over the internet and had worked before) never finished and when I exited installation the camera cannot be reached. What is the solution?

Assuming you have local access to the camera, you can perform a factory reset, hardwire the camera, and reattempt the installation.

Thanks. What I learned was that I did not have to plug the camera to the router and use D-Link's wizard. I just direct connected it to the Ethernet port. Oh, I skipped firmware upgrade. 1.00 is just fine!

Was the file zipped up? Did you unzip it?  Probably not. Nice move.

Umm, yeah, I usually unzip files before using them. I think I learned that in 1984.

Guys, if you are curious what happened, I answered it on April 18 in my second post! And no, I did not have to buy another camera. The old firmware is working fine.
