Hi,

I did a firmware upgrade on my DIR 600L cloud router, post the firmware upgrade (to version 1.13) the easy setup page language changed to Spanish automatically.

Is there some option to change the language back to English?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Upon going to the routers main web page and logging in, is there a language settings drop down menu anywhere on the page? Upper right hand corner maybe? There maybe a language pack that you can remove by going to the Tools/System maybe?

What Region are you located?
Where did you get the v1.13 FW update file from?
Did you perform a factory reset before and after sending the FW file?

I would phone contact DLink support with this problem. In mean time, maybe downgrading to previous available version of FW might fix this.

Keep us posted.

Geez, I thought this problem is only  specific to certain region.
I flashed mine from Dlink Singapore website, and I have the same problem.
Now, instead of solving the non-functional Traffic Control Rules problem  as I expected, I add another one.
I notice a user in Newegg reported the same problem after upgrading from firmware Vers. 1.00 to vers. 1.13.
So it looks like this language bug is global.

Truly dissapointed. My old DIR-600 is so much better.
Thinking of dumping this and buy another one until I got a reply from Dlink tech support for my case just now.  Let's see till next week.

Can't go back to Firmware 1.00.  It's not available anywhere.
I think I saw somewhere in Dlink Support page, that the factory installed firmware starts with 1.13.
But many users got v.1.00 installed from factory. Confusing.

You could try this:
Go here:http://tsd.dlink.com.tw

Select DIR and 600L from the drop down menus.
There is v1.00 listed here. I see there is 3 different files. I Think you would send the DIR600LAx_FW100WWb08.bin first. Not sure about the other 2 files though...up to you.

Or phone DLink support and ask...

Keep us posted.

It happens to me when i updated firmware from router login page, but i changed back to english.
This is what you have to do
Download the latest firmware and Update your firmware from your local hard drive NOT from router login page (Maintenance==>Firmware Update==>Firmware Upgrade).
After it's upgraded successfully then you will see the login page in english.

Sorry for my late reply.
I have successfully downgraded to Firmware 1.00 from the link you provided.
Everything is back to normal.  The router is now stable.
Thank you FurryNutz.

Fyi, Dlink Technical Support has been very helpful too. They gave me a case# and replied my email to discuss the problem.
Frankly I didn't expect them to reply considering this is just the lowest end of their router line....aka...cheap stuff   ;D
I salute their commitment to provide great service.
I've been a satisfied customer so far.  Currently using DIR-600, DIR-615 & DIR-600L.
Everything is working great now.   :P

I'm not sure I understand.
I always downloaded the firmware to my hard disk, & uploaded the firmware from the router's admin page (Maintenance==>Firmware Update==>Firmware Upgrade ==> Firmware Upload).  Unless you mean there is another way.

Update for those who are having persistent language problem:
------------------------------------------------------------

Problem:
Some users have persistent "Current Network Settings" Page written in Italian/Portuguese (whatever), while the rest setup page in English.   "The "Current Network Settings" page is the first page displayed right after you login to Dlink router by typing "192.168.0.1" or  "dlinkrouter"  in your web browser.
- The option "Clear Language Pack" can not solve the problem.
- Restore setting from previously saved config file also could not solve the problem.

Probable cause:
I noticed this problem after updating factory installed firmware v1.0 to v1.13 or v1.14 (latest) without choosing the "Restore to default factory settings" first before upgrading the firmware.
Somehow in the process of updating firmware, something is messed up which cause the "Current Network Settings" page suddenly written in Italian/Portuguese  (eventhough you have chosen the right firmware for your region)

Solution:
1.  Save your router's current settings to a file.  Goto "MAINTENANCE" tab in the web setup.  Choose "SAVE & RESTORE SETTINGS" on the left column, and choose "SAVE SETTINGS TO LOCAL HARDDRIVE" on the right.  It will save the current config setting to a file named   "DLINK DIR-600L gateway_settings.gws"

2. After saving your config file, click "CLEAR LANGUAGE PACK" &  "RESTORE TO FACTORY DEFAULT SETTINGS" on the same page, and reboot the rooter

3.  After reboot, the router will ask you some basic questions for a new router setup (admin password, etc).  Just provide any temporary answer to go through the questions until you can get back to the normal router setup page.   In the process, the setup questions might also force you to reboot the router.
You will also notice  the "Current Network Settings" page has been reverted back to English, but all Status on this page are "disconnected" or "not active"  (Internet Connection, Wireless Settings  & Mydlink Account).

4.  After a reboot, re-login to your router (with new admin password you have supplied in the Step 3).   Go back to "MAINTENANACE" tab in Step-1.   This time choose "LOAD SETTINGS FROM LOCAL HARD DRIVE" & choose the config file you saved earlier.  The router will force a reboot & every settings will be fully restored as you originally configured it,  incl the "Current Network Settings" page in English.

Ah.. very nice. It was a minor annoyance but still glad to resolve it.

Thanks for the solution, Serville.
