Title: Config Backup and Restore
Post by: javivu on March 06, 2009, 06:05:35 AM
I have a problem loading a backup. When I create a backup using the option 'Backup settings to file' I can create a backup file. Then, when I try to load this file using 'Restore saved settings from file (config.bin)' I get the  error 'Invalid file signature'.

Device Type DGS-1224T
Firmware Version 4.10.02
Protocol Version 2.001.003

I would apreciate any help.

Thanks,

I apologize for the late reply, I had not seen your post till today.

I would upgrade to the latest and greatest firmware and then try again.

Hi,

I have teh same switch with the same protocol, but with an even older firmware version (4.00.12), when I try to update to the newest firmware (DGS-1224T_D2_4.21.02.hex) I get the following error:

      "firmware is illegal. Wrong product!"

I don't know if I need to update to earlier firmwares prior to updating to the newest?
If so, then I have downloaded the firmware 4.10.02, the zip contains 3 different files:
* 1224TFWN.hex
* 1224TFWU.hex
* 1224Tldr.hex

which of these shall use for trying to update my switch?
