Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

I don't believe so...I recommend that you phone contact D-Link support and ask them about it if you need it.

We see this a lot on most of the DIR-DGL series of routers. Were not sure why this is however I venture to guess that there just isn't much call for this feature in the home or small business kind of environment. Routing is usually base on a more corporate or enterprise level of networking. D-Link may have the opinion of it's used more in this environment and removed it from use in home and small business class router.

I would ask D-Link on the phone what specific model router support the WAN and LAN side routing feature that you need.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks i will call them later today or tomorrow, I will come back with an answer.
- I sure hope they can activate it somehow, cause its not a cheap router.

Did you ever get an answer to this issue from DLink support?  I too am interested in changing my LAN routing table.

Don't think it's possible with this router.

I tried the 'Firebug' trick as described in this thread :

http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=5413.0

Router's status correctly shows the static route to LAN but it still doesn't function properly when accessed from the other subnet (weird problems ... loses connection to my NAS after a while, can't ping my outdoor Access Point, etc.).

Switched to another leading brand of router that supports this feature and everything worked as intended.

Disappointed that I had to ditch this router (with firmware 1.04) as it was really stable (& fast !) for me.  IPv6 works great too.  Could have lived without the PPTP VPN Server feature but not without Static Route to LAN.  :'(

Thanks for the reply.  I added the LAN routing with the "firebug" trick.  I have updated to the 1.06 Firmware.  I will let you know my results.  So far it appears to work as I can get to my secondary router from my main main routers network.

Now for the real test.  See if my PS3 on the secondary routers network can see my Windows Media Centre on my Primary routers network.

Can someone give this a try to see if this would be a good work around?

Flashed it with the latest version of DD-WRT (dated Dec 24, 2013) and those 'missing' features on stock firmware (Static Route to LAN and VPN Server) are now working great on this router  ;D

Just FYI, you'll need to refer to the WRT site for support when you use WRT on D-Link routers.

Enjoy.
