D-Link DNR-322L and DCS-5222L
« on: November 27, 2012, 03:27:05 AM »

I can't find the sub forum for the DNR-322L so sorry about that, I currently have the 5222l and was wondering how the DNR-322L works with the camera.
Has anyone tried it? also does the DNR-322L have built in Wi-Fi or does it have to be connected to a router.
Ideally I want the DNR-322L connected to the camera via CAT and recording to the NVR and then connecting to the NVR by local IP address on Wi-Fi.

Kinda new to this IP camera and NVR stuff, just don't want to buy the NVR if it has to be wired and can't work by Wi-Fi

The DNR-322L forum is located here: DNR-322L

The DNR-322L is a new product and the forum board was just created about a week or two ago, so there's no user experience content as of this posting.

Addressing your other questions, the DNR-322L is essentially a modified NAS that connects to your LAN via a network cable between your router or switch. The device supports up to 9 cameras (I believe). Cameras do not directly connect to the DNR-322L, but are rather connected to the same LAN. Any supported D-Link cameras connected via either wireless or wired to a router/switch on the same network as the DNR-322L can be picked-up by the device.

I suggest visiting the mydlink.com support page or www.dlink.com site and downloading the DNR-322L manual to get a better idea of how the device works and to help you with your purchasing decision.

Thanks for the reply, brought the NVR couple weeks ago and I've had it running 24/7 for 4-5 days now (30GB used). No major problems and it works very well with the 5222l.

Need to make some tweaks because of the amount of WLAN traffic but i think that's really down to other access points in the area and that I didn't use 2.4Ghz band and only 5Ghz before the purchase.

no regrets captures everything and gives me peace of mind.

Thank for your feedback and compatibility observations with the DCS-5222L  ;)
