So I have 2 brand new 2132lb cameras on wifi to my AirPort Extreme, and a 202l hard wired To the router. The recordings are supposed to be continuous but they aren’t. Every few minutes, there is a 20-45 second gap in the recording. It just skips when I play it back. All software is up to date. Any ideas? I already tried lowering the frame rate to 15 and the data rate all the way down to 512mb and the ip is on static.

What happens when watching LIVE? Does it say "Connecting" ? Or is it continuous?
-
Live appears to be continuous. Looks like it’s just the recordings.
-
Which hard drive?
I don't have a 2132lb to test or airport extreme.
Any qos on router?
-
Ive got two Lexar 64gb usb 3.0 thumb drives brand new plugged in. What is qos?

- What Hardware version is your DNR? Look at the sticker behind or under the device.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the DNSs web page under status.
- What region are you located?
What wireless modes are you using on the router? What generation is the AE router?
Is uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding enabled on both cameras?

If you click Manual Record (from the live video page on the DNR-202L) and let it record for a while do you get the gaps?

Hardware version is B. The firmware version for the cameras is 2.13.03. The router is the Extreme, not sure what generation. Forwarding is not enabled. I am in So-Cal. WPA2-PSK authentication. I have the wireless modes on automatic.

No I believe I don't. I believe it is just in the recordings.

I am assuming you set up continuous recording and not motion detection? What are you using for playback? The app? Browser? mydlink.com? or 3rd party software?

Yes continuous for both cameras. (http://i65.tinypic.com/wmkz1h.png)

Are those spaces in between on each line? If your continuously recording the bar should be completely solid going across.

Exactly. What is why I started this thread :)
-
This is probably the issue.
What browser are you using? You might reconfigure the schedule with IE11 or FF browsers. Clear all browser caches before accessing the DNRs web page.
I just tried with mine and I see solid bars with Safari on Mac OSX. Should be the same on Windows.
-
You think the browser is the issue? How could that be? Continuous recording is set correctly when I check, but the playback is when it skips, but why would the browser have anything to do with that?
-
On the schedule page, click ALWAYS below the schedule and it should make all the lines solid.

Already tried that, but thank you for the suggestion...(http://i63.tinypic.com/2hp6dkm.png)

From the faq on the website:
Can I use USB Flash (thumb) drives with the DNR-202L?
It is not recommended to use thumb drives with the DNR-202L. The videos may not record completely and/or flash drives may crash when recording.
They are lousy for the type of sustained recording that is happening.

Ok I will plug in a USB 5400rpm Lacie drive and see what happens!
-
SOLVED!!!!!!!!! It was the drives. Do not thumb drives I guess! Thank you!
-
What drives are you using? What did you change to resolve this?

Ok, Ya, seems like thumb drives are not supported. I think the data performances are different between thumb drives and mechanical drives.
Glad you go it working. Enjoy. ;)
