Title: Help! Need to free up port 80 on DIR-855 Router
Post by: bigfrank on June 09, 2014, 02:20:18 AM
Hi Everyone,

I need to free up port 80 on my Dlink Router as my Synology Nas is also trying to use that port.  I can see under Tools > Remote Admin Port it is set to 8080.  Is that how port 80 is written?

Also, if I change it, what can I change it to???  Do I just pick any number??

Thanks for reading and as always, I appreciate any help given

Frank

You need to setup a Virtual Server to access the NAS from a remote location using a different port. Port 80 could work however may be blocked by some ISPs. Ask the mfr of the NAS what they recomend using for the public port number. The Remote Admin on the router is only for remote access to the routers wrb page from a remote location and can't be used for anything else.
