Dlink DSL-2750u unconfigured setting issue
« on: October 15, 2015, 08:52:14 AM »

Hey guys!

I'm having an issue with my Dlink DSL-2750u router. About two nights ago, my connection dies, and after logging into the router and checking the status tab, I saw the internet connectivity status display "Unconfigured" with everything else either blank or zero (screen shot attached). I have tried re-entering my ISP settings as well as a Telkom (SA Monopoly holder on cable connection) guest account setup but no matter what I do, it gives the same result. My network is up but no net connection. I've rebooted after each setting change, and even tried resetting the router from the back, with no results.

I have connection with loaned old TP-Link router. The incoming line, cables and connection are fine. My Dlink DSL-2750u router still gives network access and connectivity around the property, both wired and wireless, to all devices. I don't have internet connection through the Dlink DSL-2750u router as I just can't get the access settings to keep saved, it constantly reverts back to the "unconfigured" state no matter what details I enter.

Any ideas?

Thanks!  ;D

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your modem? Look at the sticker under modem.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the modems web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Have you call the ISP and asked them to see if there logs is reporting anything on there end?
  • Check cable between Modem and Router, swap out to be sure. Link> Cat6 is recommended.
  • Check ISP MTU requirements, Cable is usually 1500, DSL is around 1492 down to 1472. Call the ISP and ask. Link>Checking MTU Values
  • For DSL/PPPoE connections on the router, ensure that "Always ON" option is enabled.

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again. (For older generation routers.)
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.
Be sure to log into the Admin account on the router.
Try turning off these features in Chrome:
Top right corner, little bars for options > Settings > Settings (on left) > Show advanced settings.
Uncheck these:
Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors
Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address bar
Predict network actions to improve page load performance
Enable phishing and malware protection

Might try a factory reset, reload FW code, the factory reset and set up from scratch.

For clarity, I've been using the router for a while with mu current setup with no issues, then two days ago it just dropped connection and started giving the issues listed earlier. I can still access the router without an issue, it just won't save the access settings from my ISP when I try enter it. Please see screen shot attached to original post :)

Try using IE and see if it stil fails to keep settings.
Try re-loading FW load.

I presume if a different modem works and the 2750u does not after re-loading FW, then the unit maybe faulty.

LAN is only recommended and supported for updating FW.
