Title: Router crashing whenever 2 specific devices connected to 5GHz
Post by: tjj92 on March 03, 2019, 08:44:00 AM
I just gotten a new OnePlus 6t phone and I realised whenever it attempts to connect to the router, my whole router will reboot and then it manages to connect.
After a lot of testing, I figured out more regarding my problem.

It seems that whenever my MacBook is connected to the router (macOS or Windows), and then followed by my phone, it will crash the router.
When my phone connects to the router and then followed by my MacBook, both will just connect fine.
If my MacBook is set to static IP instead of DHCP, my phone can connect after my MacBook without any issue.
If my phone is set to static IP instead of DHCP, my phone will still crash my router if connected after my MacBook.

If I turn on WLAN partition on 5GHz network, everything seems to work fine.

This issue only happens if both devices are on the 5GHz network btw.

Is there any way to resolve this issue without turning on my WLAN partition?

Router and Wired Configurations
Some things to try: - Log into the routers web page at 192.168.0.1. Use IE, Opera or FF to manage the router. Besure to log into the Admin account on the router.

H/W Version:A1
Region:Singapore
Firmware Version: 1.21SHC

It seems that charging my wireless 5GHz to WPA2-TKIP seems to fix the problem. "AES" or "AES or TKIP" seems to crash.
But WPA2-TKIP is very slow.

Possible that your devices are not compatible with AES or something between this device and the 868L and AES is causing the router to crash.
Ensure the device is up to date.

You could try a factory reset on the 868L and set up from scratch and see if this changes anything.
