New DCS920 just delivered - and I can't connect !!!

I have read on the internet that people have had issues with the DLink monitoring software and/or problems with accessing their DCS920's etc. via the internet but this isn't the difficulty I have - just nothing happens apart from the red LED lighting briefly then the green LED flashing. The green flashes 15 times (once long and then 14 more before it cycles over again)

I have a fair bit computer experience but I am stumped !  I have tried resetting and connecting directly to PC's, Mac's as well as the router but the flashing LED isn't normal behaviour is it ???

The LED is flashing red and then green??

Do you have the camera connected to your router LAN port?

You can access the camera on your local network or no?

The Red LED appears only briefly when you connect power, then the green LED constantly flashes (in a pattern).

Can't connect via local network or even by direct to a computer without a router between...

Have you ran the Installation wizard application and does it detect the camera on your network and display an IP address for the camera?

So you are able to connect if you are using a router?

Yes the LED should be red when you plug in the camera then turns green when the connection is made to a network.

Please explain how you are using the camera currently.

Well, that is it - I could connect to it in any way - so it has gone back.

Tried direct ethernet and the IP address etc. but nothing...
