The problem hasn't stopped. I'd even go as far as to say that it's gotten a bit worse. Anyone with any suggestions?
Try this make sure you have SecureSpot disabled (Advanced tab--->SecureSpot). Disable DNS Relay(Setup-->Network Settings--->Router Settings, uncheck DNS Relay. Reboot the router and then reboot the computer.

Didn't notice the wireless init failed earlier - this is a sign of faluty hardware and you should contact telelphone support for an RMA of the unit.

I can still return/exchange it at Best Buy since I only got it 10 days ago. That will probably be faster. I'll probably try another DIR-655 in the hopes that it will perform as expected.

If it's in your budget grab the 825 or 855, a router is not something that goes bad that often. Future proof for awhile.

I returned my "old" DIR-655 for a "new" DIR-655 and the first five minute have been ok! Let's see how things go from here.
