The wireless LED just keeps flashing - whether there's traffic or not - in AP and bridge+AP modes. Not only is this useless since it tell us nothing about wireless traffic, but it's an actual eye sore. Can we please either turn ON the wireless LED (no flashing, e.g. to indicate the wireless interface is up and running) or have it blink only when there's traffic, as in bridge mode, in the next f/w release?

The flashing light is probably a function of the Wifi and even though there may be no data doing through the pipe, the radio is constantly maintaining broadcast and waiting for device connections and doing beaconing. So the flashing LED is an indicator of this function and probably won't be changed. You would need to phone contact DLink support as ask about this.

If the LED is inconvenient for you then you can place a darken object like electrical tape or a non-see thru peice of paper in front of the LED to help darken the brightness.

I just think it might as well light up solid since it doesn't do anything other than flash. I do like the way it operates in bridge mode; i.e. off and blinking when there's data. Why can't it behave the same way in the other modes? Why the inconsistency?

I could contact support with my suggestions. It might make sense to open a requests/suggestions thread here which support could track. I could tape the device, or even put a paper bag over it

From what I know that not all product fall under the same projects or people that develop them. Even though most of the functions and UI is about the same across most of DLink product lines, there are differences and these differences are don't by different sections, I believe, with in DLink. I would presume that if some of the functions and features are the same that DLink would follow a similar template of coding and UI to keep some of these features consistent. However, there are many variables and specs that are probably required to also take into consideration. So with all this, we end up with the various inconsistencies seen across the product lines.

I would recommend phone contact DLink support is the best way to let them know, if you really feel like it should be changed. You an post here in the forums however not a lot of review from actual DLink engineers, at least that we know if, come to the forums and review things on there own. Why I always recommend phone contact, level 3 or higher for these cases. Not much we in forums or Level 1 or 2 support can do for this. This takes actual coding of the FW.
