This procedure describes how to configure your D-Link network camera and ShareCenter for FTP. Please keep in mind that your ShareCenter and network camera must both be configured to setup and establish an FTP connection.

ShareCenter Configuration

FTP must be configured in the ShareCenter before configuring the network camera for FTP access. The ShareCenter FTP setting values will be used to populate the network camera web UI FTP settings page.

  • Enable FTP Server. FTP must be enabled to allow other devices (or users) to use the ShareCenter for FTP
  • Folder. Create a directory on the ShareCenter where the images/video from the network camera will reside
  • FTP User Account. Create a user account with Read/Write access to the new folder
  • ShareCenter IP Address. Take note of the ShareCenter IP address as this will be necessary to configure the network camera

For demonstration purposes, assume the following ShareCenter configurations and attributes

  • Folder:  FTP_Folder1
  • UserName: FTP_Camera1
  • Password: FTP_Password
  • Access: Provide FTP_Camera1 with Read/Write access to FTP_Folder1
  • ShareCenter IP Address:

D-Link Network Camera FTP Settings

For demonstration purposes, the sample values provided in the ShareCenter section (above) are used to populate the D-Link Network Camera FTP settings.

  • Host Name:
  • User Name: FTP_Camera1
  • Password: FTP_Password
  • Path: /
  • Passive Mode: No

  • Each network camera must have a separate user account
  • If the FTP user account has access to multiple directories, the path must be populated
