installing new switch
« on: May 19, 2011, 05:09:22 PM »

Hello I recently purchased a DIR-655 rev B and updated to the 2.01NA firmware. I wanted to install a gigabit switch (TRENDnet TEG-S80g) but it has not been working out for me. I was using the switch with my old router (Linksys WRT54GL) and it worked perfectly. I have been messing with this all day and I have not figured out why it has not synced with the DIR-655 yet. I have also tried using a different switch that worked with my old router as well and it has the same problem.

The problem...

Whenever I plug the switch's RJ-45 into the DIR-655 it causes the router to stop working (no internet connection) Remove switch's RJ-45 from DIR-655 everything turns back to normal.

Please give some advice on this issue. Thanks for reading.
