Hello.
I live in Iran.
I bought DSL-2740M indihome from a computer shop in Iran.
I and many of friends had liked d-link modems and in many blog and forums We would recommend that they buy ِD-link modems.
Because it had had advanced useful options that other brands has not.
Now d-link has not advanced options so no else mater we buy d-link or other for example tp-link.
Now we recommend tp-links asus and tilda.
Problems:
1) Modem settings panel is very poor but older versions of D-link has many useful options.
several example about:
A)we can not define max client for wireless access internet.
B) we can not define mac for lan and wan.
C) advanced firewall no more exist
2) firmware updating section is disabled!!! so we can not update firmware and also can not download backup.
3) we search google and find only one link for download 2740m firmware but link not work and nobody can download it:

last day it has link of firmware but today i see its removed!!

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this.

We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

I can not speak and listening English or Arabic for calling by phone. Iran has not support center and my language is Farsi/Persian.
But I can write and read English.
What support center i must email?

I saw you post a link for Iran but i saw my model is not on this form that for Iranian .
2740u is on list my is 2740m.

I have the same problem with the D-link Dsl-2740m, I am trying to update the firmware (DSL-2740M A1 AU 1.00.bin) when I select the file via the web it tells me "you put a wrong file" apparently the file has to be .img and the one it has is .bin, the question is can I change the extension of the firmware file (.bin to .img)? Or would you have to convert the file with a program? Or if there is another way to load the firmware?
