DCS-933L h264 format not working
« on: January 23, 2019, 04:48:39 AM »

Hi , I have a DLink DCS-933L ip camera.I tried streaming it through VLC.
But always it gives me mjpeg formatted stream.

I need h.264 format.I went to the camera settings page and made h264 as default, but then also, mjpeg stream is only getting received.
Could some one give some insights on how to get the h264 stream!!
And is there anyway to specify the h264 stream, resolution, fps in the URL itself so that I dont need to change the camera settings each time?

Thanks in advance!!!

Been poking around on my 933 - find that "ip/h264.cgi" if entered as the URL in firefox address bar will result in a download. The download runs "forever".  I suspect this is the H.264 data we'd like to be able to see.  Haven't figured out the format / how to display this yet.

What happens if you run that same thing in IE11?
What version of FF are you using?

Sorry for the long delay, I don't get notifications about posts here.  I don't use IE.  I tried VLC with the "h264.cgi" and didn't get useful results.  I did get VLC to play the audio by opening "audio.cgi" - which is a huge step forward since the loss of functionality due to lack of firmware updates.

If you can give IE11x32 a try to see if anything works here.

Know that most current browsers no longer support any 3rd party plug-ins and the 933L is getting to be long in the pants and were not seeing much FW updates anymore. If found that older versions of FireFox v52.9.0 seem to work ok. IE11x32 seems to work as well. I don't use chrome. Current Opera version are the same in regards to plug-ins.

Also let us know what you find with v1.15 loaded.
