Hello folks,
I was hoping you can help me upgrade my firmware. I have a DIR-601 Hardware Ver. A1, Firmware Ver. 1.01. Well, I think I do. But I'm not sure, because on the box and the product it only says GO-RT-N150, and I don't really know if it's a DIR-600 or a DIR-601.
Anyway, while trying to upgrade my firmware, I'm getting the following error:

As you can see, it's a very obscure error. I'm using Firefox (tried it with the IE also). I've followed the FW upgrade procedure outlined on the forums, but this step I'm unable to realize.
Any ideas or similar experiences?
Thanks!

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
- What region are you located?
-
Hello,
As I said, it's Hardware Version A1. I'm in Montenegro - that's like South-East Europe.
-
Did it give any model info as well?
-
I'm not sure what you mean...
I said it's an GO-RT-N150, HW version A1, FW version 1.01.
FCC ID is KA2DIR600A1. I guess that's DIR-600 then? I did try with the firmware for DIR-600, but I get the same error.

No,
Is this your router?

No. You see, why would they do that? They have three routers with the same label?! My router is probably older, and looks like this: http://support.dlink.com/ProductInfo.aspx?m=DIR-601

Then I recommend you load FW from this site:
http://www.dlink.com/me/sr/support/product/dir-600-wireless-n-150-home-router (http://www.dlink.com/me/sr/support/product/dir-600-wireless-n-150-home-router)
Please use the following process to update FW:

Ya seem odd that the model differs.
If anything, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Strangely enough, there is no option for Revision A1 on the link you've suggested. But thank you anyway. I'll try with this "new look"s FW tomorrow, see how it goes. :)

I recommend contacting D-Link support and asking them specifically where you can get the correct FW from. I wouldn't want you to load something incorrect then have it either become bricked or not work right...
Keep us posted.

I've sent them email this morning (it's 11:35PM in my country right now), but still got no reply. I don't know whom to call on the telephone here in my country.
What baffles me completely is the absence of any sensible error message. For example, when I try to upload some other type of file (like .txt), I do get the full "file incorrect", or something like that, error.
The other thing that really grinds my gears is that when I click the "Check Now" button, next to the "Check Online Now for Latest Firmware Version" label, I get the lovely "connection error !" message (exact full quote).
The only clue I found is in the URL (in the screenshot), where it says: "ERR_REQ_TOO_LONG". I don't know what this means exactly. I don't think it's "Request Too Long", because this error page pops up almost instantly after I click the "Upload" button.
I don't think I'll spend much more time and energy on this, unless I hear from the Support soon.

A gentleman from the regional D-Link office has sent me the appropriate Firmware file by email. I've successfully upgraded firmware after that. ;)

Glad you go it working. Enjoy. ;)
