Upgraded to DIR-868L today
« on: May 28, 2013, 09:41:23 AM »

Just replaced DIR-655 by DIR-868L today, and it maximize my broadband speed.

My broadband was upgraded to 1000Mbps recently. And I was using DIR-655 and facing the "bandwidth cap" issue. My old post: http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=54225.0

After upgraded to 868L, i did the download speed test, the result back to where it should be, no more "bandwidth cap" now.

Beside the nice throughput of 868L, I found the wifi signal penetrating power is stronger than 655 too.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who use a high bandwidth broadband.

Glad you got it working and your internet speeds are where they should be. Hope you enjoy.
You could use the DIR-655 as a wired AP if needed or as a guest zone kind of configuration for wireless clients.

Enjoy.

I see it's listed on the official "where to buy" for your region so I presume D-Links Hong Kong site will eventually get it listed.

How did you migrate the 'OLD' Dir-655 config to the 'NEW' Dir-868L?

The export and import does not work. I also contacted tech support but no response yet!

thanks,

Using config files from other model routers is not supported nor will it work. Different platform and options. Youll need to setup the 868 from scratch.

Agreed with FurryNutz  ;D
The configuration screen of DIR-655 and DIR-868L looks almost the same.
I captured the config screens from DIR-655, then type it in DIR-868 config menu.
