I have attempted to set up a guest network on my DIR-865L but can't get internet service in spite of having it on the primary network. Hopefully it is just a configuration issue, but I have tried a bunch of things and still found no success. I am using the device as an access point (it is hard wired to the DHCP router) and I have disabled DHCP on this device.
Here are some key settings:
Setup> Network Settings> Router Settings> Enable DNS Relay (unchecked)
Setup> Network Settings> DHCP Server Settings> Enable DHCP Server (unchecked)
Advanced> UPNP> Enable UPnP IGD: (unchecked)
Primary wireless network works fine, but guest network does not connect to internet. This is true of both bands in both cases. Also, I have other access points (Asus) with guest internet working fine so I don't think it is a router configuration problem. Am I missing something? How can I troubleshoot this?
Thanks!

How is the cable connected? Lan to lan? Ap mode doesn’t support guest zone

The DIR-865L is connected by ethernet cable through a switch to the router. I guess you have answered it if it simply doesn't support the guest zone in this configuration. Thanks!

Guest zone requires the Wan port and router mode.
Good luck
