Cannot set Motion Detection Blocks - Java Issue
« on: April 02, 2018, 07:23:08 AM »

I have installed latest version of Java, but accessing the camera from IE will not show the motion detection image.  I cannot select blocks of the image to monitor.  I get NO alerts, even standing in front of the camera.

I have the latest version of Java, and verified from Java's website.

Any advice?

Clear all browser caches and try again.
Might configure Compatibility mode in IE11.
Are you using IE11 x64 or x32 bit?

Try installing FF ESR version of there browser as well.

Clear all browser caches and try again.  Nope, no good.
Might configure Compatibility mode in IE11.  Tried that.  Breaks it compoetely.  403 error.

IE11, Windows 8.1 64-bit Enterprise, so probably x64.
11.0.9600.18953

Try installing FF ESR version of there browser as well.  I had hoped just using IE would be enough.

I should have known when these were on sale two for one on GroupOn, it was end of life time.

I believe I indicated that I did, except for installing an old version of Firefox.  It's currently at release 59.

Do the newer cameras require Java as well?

Try the ESR version of FF. The Standard version will not allow plug ins.

I believe there is a x32 bit version of IE11 with x64.

Also ensure that the IP address is entered into Javas security exception list as well.

Sometimes browser add-ons and anti-virus software if integrated in your browser can block java from running. Disable any if possible.

Also are you connecting directly to the camera via IP address or going through mydlink.com > settings?

You can install the free mydlink Lite or mydlink app on iOS or android devices and configure the camera.

Via IP address from my PC.

Tech support was never able to get these cameras on the cloud.  (Failure to bind.)

FINALLY!  Fixed.

Had to connect to camera with IE11, AS ADMIN.  Even though my Windows ID is already an Admin on the box, I had to right click IE, and "RUN AS ADMIN" for it to have the necessary permissions to run the java applet to allow me to select which boxes for the camera to be sensitive.
