Compatible with DNR-202L??
« on: December 31, 2015, 12:43:14 PM »

I recently purchased two DCS-934L cameras and am very pleased with them. I have one set up facing our front entry way and one in the basement of our retirement home. I have just purchased a third to place in the garage.

My question is - are these cameras compatible with the DNR-202L video recorder?  I have looked through the D-Link compatible cameras list and found it to be somewhat confusing; I have sent email to D-Link support but have not heard back from them; I have read camera reviews on Amazon and Newegg and have read conflicting answers.

Can anyone tell me DEFINITIVELY if these two would work together??

Thanks . . .

Specs don't list the 934Ls for the 202:
http://us.dlink.com/products/home-solutions/mydlink-camera-video-recorder/

However support may have been added later on. I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

FurryNutz,

Thanks for the quick reply.  I took your advice and phoned D-Link customer service and they confirmed that the two (DSC-934L and DNR-202L) should work well together providing both are updated to the latest firmware.  I'll probably be placing an order for the DNR-202L later this week.  I'll update this thread to let everyone know how it goes . . .

Thanks again.

Make sure you ask them about compatible HDD as well or look on the web site for that info. Let us know how it turns out.

Wanted to give everyone a quick update on using the DNR-202L video recorder with DSC-934L cameras . . . .

Ordered the DNR-202L last week and installed it today.  Going thru the setup wizard for the recorder was super easy.  It quickly recognized the three DSC-934L cameras in my network with absolutely no problems.  I currently have it linked to a 500GB external hard drive and am able to record and view video from the cameras.  So far an extremely easy and cost effective security solution for our new home.

About the only caveat is to make sure that both the cameras and the video recorder are running the latest firmware.

I have the DNR202l along with numerous cameras (2) 934's included. As of the 1st of yr have not been able to connect to the DNR remotely. get the conecting screen and just keeps spinning. Also try to connect to cameras and can view live but unable to connect to  camera setup, just get "Blank Screen" have tried Firefox, Chrome and IE all no luck. Dlink says I need to be on site to repair? Not what I purchased for as I will not be back for a couple of weeks. Noticed they di an emergency fix on 12/31/15. Not sure whats up checked all firmware before I left. Any ideas would help. Thanks
Oh and all have worked fine up until now.

I currently have the same problems trying to connect remotely to the DNR-202L.  All I get, same as you, is the "connecting screen".  I tried both Firefox and IE11 with the same results.  However, when I try to connect locally everything works as expected.

I'll try giving D-Link support a call when I am at the camera/video recorder location later this week and see if they can help resolve the problem.

There was a minor issue found in remote viewing cameras yesterday and seemed to be fixed. I was able to access my camera using the MDL services site. Please check again and let me know if you can access your products or not.

I am able to remotely connect to and view each of my DSC-934L cameras on mydlink.com website.  I can even change their settings.  However, the problem I described above concerning the DNR-202L still exits - still cannot connect to it remotely.
