The mydlink Lite app (mac) allows me to enable/disable Motion detection but other than restricting the active area there are no other settings.
Without using the direct browser interface what are the default settings when the Motion detection is turned on via the mobile app?
thank you,

Active area which needs to be set for the area of detection. Sensitivity is at 30%. Recording by Motion is disabled by default.

Once the camera is set to enabled within the mobile app will it by default notify the mobile, in my case an iPhone? Or does this require setting up the notification within the browser interface?
At this point I have motion detection turned on via dlink lite but am not receiving notification. I can view the camera stream locally and via the cloud. Does notification require any other settings... UPnP etc
DCS-936L, mac OS 10.12.5

Should be enabled on the phone. Ensure that Notifications on the iPhone are enabled for the app as well.

thanks again for the help. Yes, notifications are turned on. I installed 3 - 936L's no notifications but all accessible local/cloud, that's why I was wondering about UPnP ( I have an Apple router )
Just updated the firmware on one of the cameras to the beta version and it seems to be lost.. I need to see if I can do a hard unplug/restart or if I need to delete the camera and start over. The other 2 cameras have the latest legit firmware installed.

Yes, It's recommended to have uPnP enabled on the router and uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding enabled on ALL cameras. I only have one 936L, 960L and a 933L.

Ooooops!
within dlink lite I set the cameras to motion detect, made sure that the iphone privacy settings allowed notification, but I didn't notice that within the remote tab / hamburger•drop-down•menu was another setting for push notifications.
thanks for the help... a bit embarrassed to have missed this one!
