Title: locial web access or 3rd party software
Post by: cmartorelli on June 09, 2017, 10:14:38 AM
Hello I just picked up a DCS-5030L and a few other D line cameras. I have everything set where I can view them from my phone. I would also like to view the cameras on the computer, but I find the my d-link site very slow to the point it unusable. Is there a way to view the camera directly from a web page on a mac or another software app that would connect directly? Also can you recommend a software package that I could run on a mac where I could setup recording of the cameras. My plan is to have about 7 cameras eventually as I am slowly replacing a older swann NVR system.
Thanks

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?

I use a mac and safari, I have tried on several computers and it's that same.
I just tried a windows 10 machine an IE and it about the same. I also have a SWANN camera system and the feed comes right up

Odd that only Mac and PC browser local connection with the camera seems slow.
Can you try a factory reset and set up from scratch and test the performance on Windows and Mac?
Be sure to clear browser caches before accessing the cameras Ui.

I still have not had the time to do a full reset, but I did try a 3rd party app called D-Link++ viewer. The two DCS-933l cameras come up instantly the software does not support the DSC-5030L which is ashamed because this setup would be perfect. I can connect to my home network via VPN to access the cameras when I am at work.

Let us know if you can complete a full factory reset and set up from scratch. Be sure to use latest setup software for the 5030.

OK i did the complete reset and reset everything up. Performance on the my drink site is still very slow it's unusable. the iOS app works fine and so deserves the my d-link++ app however they do not support the 5030L I hope they will in the future.
I have a big problem ever since I did the facto=ry reset the home position is not where it should be the camera is turned 90 degrees now. How do I fix this new problem?
Thanks

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
