Event Log Coming back
« on: May 03, 2015, 04:26:20 AM »

Hello
I update with firmware 1.05.02 and unfortunately, "event log" are back. As well as by email and FTP.
This is unfortunate because since the 1.03.09 version of "event log" had disappeared.

This problem is very important because it increases in inconsiderately the number of email and FTP connection. So email and IP address blacklisting is then possible.

Are you using motion detection?
Is it set up exactly like it was before? Are you logged into the f/w pages and setting motion there?

I noticed exactly same issue. I think this problem popped-up with fw v1.0.4. Version 1.03.09 was last one which works like you said.
Motion detection is in use, config is exactly same than with working version. If alarm happens with this new fw, I will get about 5 .log files to my inbox and one real video (.mp4), sometimes only log files ==> not good. Please fix this ASAP

Yes I'm using motion detection from my webcam setup page.
My setup it's the same like before.

So I receive email and FTP with picture when motion is detected + lot of event log by email and FTP. Like before 1.03.09 firware version.
I don't understand why this problem is resolved with 1.03.09 and is coming back now !!

There is no sense in this kind of functionality from D-Link. This just point us that they didn't test these patch releases properly.
They just believe that if some change in the code works in some product, it will work everywhere and skip the test phase, just put the release out.

Until fix is available I use the 1.03.09 FW

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
