mydlink registration problem
« on: June 30, 2011, 10:13:51 AM »

I just purchased a DCS930 cam.
I ran the Wizard from the CD as indicated in the quick-start guide, all 9 steps in the full installation. The cam works, no problem there, it connects nicely to the internet.
But at no point does the wizard ask me to register a mydlink account. There is no such step.

My one simple question is: How do I register a mydlink account?

The only way to register your DCS-930L on mydlink is through the wizard. There is no manual process. You must have skipped a step in the wizard. Unfortunately, the only way to get to the dlink registration is reconfigure the camera from scratch by walking through the wizard again.

This is one key flaw D-Link needs to address.

I uninstalled everything, resetted the cam. Rebooted the computer. Did everything from scratch. Same result!

1. Verify the router
2. Set the cam (the foot to the cam)
3. Connect the ethernet cable
4. Connect power to the cam
(connetion is verified by the wizard) Succesful!
5. Choose the cam from the IP-list and verify MAC-address. Matches!
6. Set password to the cam
7. Verifying internet-connection
8. Choose how to connect the cam cable/wireless
Loading cam-settings
9. "well done, the camera is now operational"
Showing live pics from cam
"Press done to finish"

I feel completely stupid, please tell me which step allows me to register an mydlink account.

I don't have access to the CD at the moment, so I can't check. All I can say is that the option is definitely on the wizard.

I strongly suggest you call D-Link customer support since you are still under warranty. The wait isn't long and they will walk you through the end-to-end configuration.
