So, what's the latest, greatest modem by Moto?  No longer the 6120?

Here is a break down.

SB6120:
4 channels down, 4 channels up(4x4). Still the gold standard.

SB6121:
4x4, new case, MoCA filter.

SB6180:
8x4, new case, MoCa filter. Very hard to find.

SB6580:
8x4, new case, MoCA filter. Modem/Router Combo

SB6141:
8x4, new case, MoCA filter. Short answer, its uses a different tuner then the SB6180. Similar performance.

This is with the 4500 in line? WOW. Always wondered if these routers could be used on ISPs like this.

**Chants: I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy, . . . "   :o

Is this via wireless?

Verizon Fios is one fast ISP.  And, from what I understand, very reasonable.. ;)

How did you even get the Ultimate package without the D3 modem? Their professional install only.

We started with the package below it and I called to upgrade.  They never came out to switch my modem..  **Shrugs**

Hmm.. Cox did something on their end recently. I'm getting a faster D/L rate, and the U/L is about the same.  (Wireless connection)   The only difference I know is that I have a different IP address.   Normally the last 2 octets change, but this time all 4 octets have changed.

;D

I went back to Charter and am on the 30/4 plan (not 40/4, I usually get a little more speed from them).

I went to speedtest.net and noticed I was only getting less than 30Mbs when directly to the modem. Cableone had be test with there site and I was getting 50Mb down. I guess some of the speed test sites get over loaded and such from what the tech said. I guess it's working.  ::)

They have a Speed Test Plus Beta version. :)  There's a java applet that it uses.  Once I get home, I'll check it out.
